Ayurvedic medicine uses it in traditional Indian medicine. They take the form of seeds or powder. Rich in iron and magnesium, potassium, cumin is analgesic and anti-inflammatory; it would positively affect lactation.

We often find the combination of fennel, anise, and cumin in breastfeeding herbal teas. This combination also helps relieve pain associated with infant colic. Cumin is also considered a digestive spice, associated with fennel with coriander and cardamom.
